Of val je dan naar boven? Flauw grapje uiteraard......
Plaats van handeling was het Fringe Frestival in het Australische Perth, waar onder meer ook Milko Steyvers zijn opwachting maakt.
Als hij de reis aandurfde tenminste.....

Fringe World show cancelled after circus
performer Anthony Tran falls 6m

A Fringe World circus show has been cancelled after a performer fell more than 6m in front of shocked audience members last night.

Anthony Tran was in the middle of an acrobatic performance in Fringe World show 5 when he plummeted to the floor, shocking a packed audience and his performance partner Fay MacFarlane.

Mr Tran was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

He had an MRI scan today and will remain in hospital until Monday.

Artrage is the company behind Fringe World and CEO Sharon Burgess said staff at the venue reported there was no fault in the equipment.

“The early indication is that the performer misjudged the catch during an aerial routine and fell approximately 4 metres,” she said.

“Anthony did not lose consciousness and was attended to immediately and taken to hospital as a precaution.

“Anthony is a seasoned performer, but this incident is an unfortunate reminder that circus is an art form built on a fine balance of skill and risk,” Ms Burgess added.

Audience members were ejected from the 7m-high Big Top in the Woodside Pleasure Garden in Northbridge.

Tonight’s performance of 5 - produced by Malaga-based Kinetica Circus - has been cancelled and ticket holders will be notified and refunded.

Other programming in the Big Top will go ahead as planned.

Kinetica Circus performers had a similar incident two years ago when two aerialists performing at the WA Police Social Club Ball fell during their routine.

The man and woman were performing at the Hyatt Regency Perth on a trapeze when they fell around 4m.

They were taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries, but it later turned out that they had escaped serious injuries.

At the time Kinetica co-director Rebecca McMahon said that the fall was due to faulty equipment – the trapeze appeared to have come away from its attachment to the ceiling.

“Safety during circus performance is of paramount important to Kinetica and the circus industry as a whole,” the company said via a statement in 2018.
